A look inside: Council approves annual City budget

At their June 10th meeting, City Council approved the 2026 City Budget (the fiscal/budget year for the City goes from July 1st through June 30th of the following year, so fiscal year 2026 started this past July 1st for the City). Prior to this meeting, they had held a public hearing for the preliminary budget, and a public hearing was held earlier in the June 10th meeting. At the last public hearing there was only one member of the public who commented: Gayna Salinas encouraged the City Council and citizens to review the budget line by line.
