UPDATED: Location change: Lithium drilling open house will happen at City Hall, site tours removed from agenda
The drilling site open house will instead be a City Hall presentation
Update: At the open house on March 13th, Anson Resources representative Mike Swenson took issue with the characterization of the March 8th water incident as a “blowout”. According to Oil and Gas Overview, “In other words, a kick becomes a blowout when the pressure from the formation fluids overcomes the pressure exerted by the drilling mud column and the well control procedures fail”. This was the case according to Swenson’s own description of what happened at the Blackstone drill rig on March 8th.
Mayor Hatt announced tonight that Blackstone Minerals and A1 Lithium open house previously scheduled to occur at the active Blackstone drilling site will instead happen at the same time in City Hall (6pm on Wednesday, March 13th). No reason was given for why the location was changed from the drilling site, where what some might call a “blowout” occurred last Friday, to City Hall. The updated poster is included below:
